This is our most popular dance class and it is built to accommodate both total beginners up to dancers with many years of experience - basically from beginners to professionals. Old-school Solo Jazz emerged from the African American dance tradition in the 1920's-1940's Harlem (New York) and we will mostly dance to big band swing music. You will dance solo but yet at the same time together in a group with many other dancers. We will challenge everyone at their individual level.

Solo Jazz emerged from the African American dance tradition in the 1920's-1940's Harlem (New York) to big band swing music. You will dance solo but yet at the same time together in a group with many other dancers. This course can be combined with the Old-school Solo Jazz class on Tuesday evenings, at a discounted price, if you want to get moving and grooving twice a week. Both groups will work on similar material. |

This course is suitable both for those who never danced Lindy Hop before but have experience from other dances or are quick learners, but also suitable for you who've danced for about one-two years. This course has four different starting positions - meaning that you can take this course at least four semesters without learning the same material. This time the focus is on fast dancing, different kick-steps and Charleston. After four semesters you can either stay for more semesters to get a solid foundation or, if your dancing feels fluent, move on to Lindy Hop Advanced. We will do our best to challenge you at your own individual level.

To be able to follow this course you should know 6-counts (both Triple Steps and Jig Walks), 8-counts and also Charleston and you have already danced Lindy Hop for a few years. We always recommend to take the Lindy Hop Fundamental course up to four semesters so your basics are solid. In this course we will work with experimenting with your solid basics, challenging you with new rhythms and work on the whole range of tempos from really slow to pretty fast.
