For one weekend we are going to work on both West African dancing together with Ousmane Camara from Guinea and on Authentic Solo Jazz with us, Åsa and Daniel Heedman. We want to share what we experienced when we started our journey on learning West African dances. We recognized most of the steps that our teacher Abdoulaye Camara did; like Fall of the log, Suzy Q, Appel Jacks... and so on. When we started taking classes in West African dancing a new door was opened. New inspiration and new expressions of "old" steps and a new dimension of the history of this dance that we do - the origin of the Authentic Jazz steps.
We also learnt how to dance with our whole body, with our eyes, with our soul and heart - in the same spirit that we interpret the original Authentic Jazz dancers seen in old clips.
Come and join us for one weekend where we will work on your dancing from African to Jazz- enlighten by the magical midnight sun!

About:
Ousamne Camara: A very talented dancers who has been working professionally as a dancer in Guinea since 1998. He has been a member of one of the most well-renowned dance companies in Guinea and have been travelling the world to perform. 2005 Ousmane moved to Sweden and have science then been working as both a dancer and a very appreciated teacher. 2017 he was the main African Dance teacher at Herräng Dance Camp.

Location: Luleå, Sweden, Spegelsalen, Pontushallen.
Level: From intermediate and up. This means that you should have some experience in either Authentic Solo Jazz or African Dancing. You can not be a total beginner on both. We will have one or two classes depending on how many that will sign up.
Class schedule (Schedule might change slightly when it comes to times and a more detailed schedule will come later). We will try to make it 50/50 with Authentic Solo-Jazz and African dancing and we will also try to combined and interlace the the two dances as much as possible.
Saturday: 10.00 - 12.30 Class
12.30 - 14.00 LUNCH
14.00 - 16.00 Class
Sunday: 10.00 - 12.00 Class
12.00 - 13.30 LUNCH
