Lindy hop classes

online lindy hop: 2 Video-classes & personal feedback

This Lindy Hop course is dedicated to dancers who want to practice even more than what your local scene offers or doesn't have the chance to go to enough regular dance classes. As this is a partner dance you will need a partner to be able to take the course.

LEVEL:  Different courses will be suitable for different levels. Courses are from Beginners-Intermediate up to Advanced
Now, also Beginners classes!

GENERAL INFORMATION:
  • You can start the course whenever it suits you and your partner. Just send us an email and we will start your course within a week.
  • To be able to do the course you only need:
    1) A computer and access to internet.
    2) A place to practice.
    3) A wish to become a better dancer!
  • One course/theme includes two instructional videos.  Each video contains material that you would normally cover during a one hour regular Lindy Hop class. We will give you material, break it down and give you all the input and small little details that you would need to know when learning and practicing the material. After you have worked with both instructional videos you film yourselves and send us the recording for detailed advice and feedback on how you are coming along with the material and your dancing in general.
  • One course/theme cost 140 Euro per person.
  • You choose one or two or more class themes from below. Our class themes might vary over time. Right now we we will give below classes but keep your eyes open for more themes to come.
CLASS THEMES:
  • Fundamental techniques: This might be your most important class. The technique is very important in your development as a dancer. To be able to get the Swing Out to feel nice and relaxed, to dance with rhythm in you leading instead of static tension, how to use the triple steps to travel over the floor, the twist for the followers and details on how to get in and around in the Swing Out (based on what Norma Miller taught us).  This is just a taste of what this course will include. (From Beginners-Intermediate up to Advanced).
  • Frankie classics: You will learn some of the typical Frankie figures that he was teaching a lot throughout the 90's and in to the early 2000. (Susceptible from Intermediate up to Advanced).
  • Frankie classics 2:  Thous figures are maybe less known to the Lindy scene today and we do not see the nearly at all at the social dance floor of today. (Suitable from Intermediate-Advanced up to Advanced).
  • Al Minns Classics: Typical moves, figures and foot work that Al Minns used to do in his dancing. (Susceptible from Intermediate up to Advanced).
  • Fast dancing: technique, exercises and some fast dancing material from the epic Lindy Hop sequence in "A day at the races". (Suitable from Intermediate-Advanced up to Advanced).
  • Jigg Walks:  Jigg walk as in it's basic structure but also with many different variations when is comes to both figures and footwork. (From Beginners-Intermediate up to Advanced).
  • Lindy Basics 1:  (see link) This course is from total beginners up to Beginner- Intermediate (who wants to really get a good and solid basics). We will walk through the basic steps, some of the most basic figures, mostly 8-counts.
  • Lindy Basic 2: This will be a continuation on Lindy Basic 1 and will also include some of the basic 6-counts.
We will ask you to not spread the material that we are sending you as this is only for your private use. We would also not like to see any of the material spread on the internet or used in any other ways then helping yourself on your own journey at becoming a better Lindy Hopper. Why? - To be able to have this as our one and only job we also need to get a salary that we can live from, this means- we can unfortunately not work for free.
